1/29/09 - Lady Bobcats WIN!
Today our middle schoolers played in two very exciting basketball games at Hubert Middle School. The Lady Bobcats took their first win with a final score of 33 to 12. They were on fire. Take a look at the attached photo taken by proud Bobcat parent Don Teuton. The Gentlemen Bobcats also played an impressive game against a team of giants. Our boys fell with a score of 30 to 10 but they played their hearts out!
If you haven't attended one of the Ellis Basketball games, you are missing out. Not only do we have great teams, we have outstanding cheerleaders and our own furry Bobcat mascot.
The PTA is very proud of the Middle School Athletes. Stay tuned for a schedule of games.
Wednesday our track and field athletes participated in the district championship meet against all other middle schools in the system. Our athletes represented Ellis at the highest levels it terms of performance and sportsmanship. We had four first place finishes for the district: Raven Heyward in the shot put (32 Feet); Jakwan Tilley in the 400 meters; Paul Smoak in the mile and our boy's 4X400 relay came in first for the district with a time of 4:29. (That is a metric mile folks!) This relay was made up of Jameel Burroughs, Paul Smoak, Benny Eller and Jakwan Tilley.
Thanks, Coach Denny

5/19/08 - Track Team News
This is the first time an Ellis relay has finished first in the 10 year history of the program. The bigger news is that every athlete who performed made improvements in their times or distances jumped. Here is a list of these other athletes. For the girls: Akeema Nesbitt, Isabel Jiran, Caitlin Teuton, Amber Best (6th Grade), Denisha Green ( 6th Grade), Samantha Lucier (6th Grade), Marquaja Smoak (6th Grade), Helen McEachern ( 6th Grade). For the boys: Caleb Delorme, Joshua Rodges, Connor Lucier, JoeNathan Kinlaw.
I mention the 6th grade level because they are competing against the 7th and 8th grade levels. If you see these students in the hall let them know how proud you are of them. It was a good thing for Montessori and Charles Ellis.
